I shouldn't but I do.
I grumble,not because I want to get my services for free (which would be awesome by the way) but because paying bills means I am broke afterwards!
I suppose I should be grateful that I am able to pay bills - thats a post for another day.
Today I did something incredibly stupid.
It was one of my worst fears come true.
I accidentally locked my keys in my car.
At 7 AM on a rainy Monday morning.
I had to pick a friend up but I was on E so I stopped to get some gas before hitting the highway.I tried to use my card but the card reader wouldnt read it so I decided to pay inside.Normally I would grab my keys,lock the door and run in BUT today,I didn't.
I locked the door and ran inside and as I was paying for the gas,it hit me..I had just left my keys in the ignition of a locked car.
Lucky for me the car was turned off.
I called the cops but they declined to help me citing liability issues (I learned that the only way they can assist you is if you have a baby or animal locked in the car with the keys).
I then remembered that I have awesome insurance that actually covers any roadside issues so I dialed them and yep,they sent someone over in under an hour and I was on my merry way - without paying a cent out of pocket.
Guess now I won't complain much when paying my insurance bill because they did save me $56.
The coolest part was after the guy had broken into my car and opened it up for me,I asked him for a receipt thinking I would have to file a claim only for him to go,"not necessary,your insurance company already covered it"...sweeeet!
So heck yeah...today,I'm grateful for roadside assistance.
