Today I'm grateful for flowers

I'm not really a flowers kind of girl
I feel bad each time I get flowers because I hate to see them die so whenever someone gives me flowers,I don't ever put them in water - I simply let them sit on my counter and dry out..that way I get to keep them for ages and ages.

My neighbor gave me a single rose for mother's day...fresh out of her garden with the thorns still intact.
It's a very beautiful rose.
I must say I have actually never been given a flower that pretty.
It's sitting on my table as I type this and everytime I look at it,I can't help but smile.
It's actually sitting right next to the flowers my son has been picking up everywhere we go and giving me..someday he is going to make some girl very happy but for today,he has made really happy by giving me 4 flowers from our yard and that simple act means today,I'm grateful for flowers - whether they are bought from the store or simply picked from the front yard.
